If you love the beach and the turquoise water, then nothing is better than a trip to the island nation of Maldives.

I was there for two weeks, the first week I was in Park Hyatt, and the second week, we stayed at Six Senses. Park Hyatt is located in Huvadhoo Atoll, one of the largest and deepest Atolls in the world, while six senses are located in the Laamu Atoll. They were both exotic islands with lots of activities and fine foods. The trip was on my bucket list for a long time, however, the cost involved was very high so I wanted to save some money before I could undertake the trip. The Maldives is the Jewel as far as beaches are concerned, no country in the world which has beaches comes near the quality you find here. The color of the water is exceptional as well as the species of fish you find in these waters.

The bad news about the Maldives is that within 50 years, the majority of Atolls will be undersea, so before that happens and you lose a piece of paradise, please go visit it. It is very important for our civilization to make sure that global warming is reduced forever, and that future generations can enjoy the same beaches as we have done.

My daily activity included 6 to 8 hours on the beach swimming, reading, and snorkeling on the house reef which was the highlight of the tour. I had booked the resort mainly for the house reef as you could do the snorkeling or scuba diving at any time since you don’t have to take a boat to go to the reef. The reef at Park Hyatt was majestic, as I have never seen anything like it. It seemed as if the entire city was created for the fishes to roam. They had everything from sharks to dolphins along with perfect visibility; the temperature of the water was also perfect. The diving instructor at Park Hyatt told me that the reef was badly bleached in the last couple of years because of global warming, however, the reef is now a little better compared with a few years ago when the water temperature of the ocean increased a few degrees higher. The swimming and snorkeling were also better as my two daughters also joined me in my adventure to see beautiful fishes and turtles.

I love the water and I want to pass on my passion to both my daughters who can now swim very elegantly and smoothly in the water. At the beach, I always carry my beach bag which has enough space to carry all my gear plus it repels sand. If you are interested in buying the bag, go shop the store! If you love water, this is my plea to you to visit the jewel of Asia, you will not regret your decision. I forgot to mention all the fruits that were in the Maldives, they were all delectable. We tried a new fruit called “Mangosteen”, which was out of this world. We also tried fresh organic honey which was not very sweet but very light. We also saw fruit bats which were huge in size and brown. I have never seen a bat like that.

We flew from NY to Dubai to Male on Emirates and then from Male, we had to take a small plane to fly to a smaller island. From there we took a speed boat to reach the resort. The plane and boat ride took a long time, however, once you reach your destination, you will forget everything. Trust me. The food was exceptional. I can go on and on but you need to visit it yourself to see the beauty.
